Paul Kenton

I love his work. I love his use of line and colour. Composition is key. I may try his approach on my Bob Marley work.

Photo Frames

I started to make some photo frames as I could not seem to find any that would suit the project. These are rough mock ups. I will colour them and add texture within the next few days. Also add my illustrations of Marley's family and lifestyle.

Shell Necklaces

I collected many shells from Hengisbury Head beach and made necklaces out of them. :)

Experimenting Ideas

I drew a quick sketch in my book of Marleys family before he has 11 children only 5 are depicted in this illustration. I have scanned in the original sketch into Photoshop then printed of the picture on to plain white paper and on to pink sugar paper. I have experimented with collage, tippex, pen, biro and cutting and pasting material behind the illustrations to see what effects I could achieve.

I am going to draw pictures of him family and of his childhood and surrounding areas. I see these illustrations going into battered pictures frames on the shelves of our installation piece. I believe that Jack and Josh collected some driftwood from the beach, which will be used as the shelves in our final outcome.

Down by the Sea

I collected shells, stones and sand from the beach today. I have made sandy bottles which will be used as sandy rum bottles in our installation.
I also collected driftwood and various pieces of seaweed. I went back to my car in the car park at Hengisbury Head and found a stick of bamboo....so I took it! :)
